The Making of the 11/4/08 Poster

Today, we're proud to reveal the official 11/4/08 posters, designed by Felipe Lima. Below, Felipe shares a few thoughts about making these posters, as well as some photos from the printing.

Similar in concept to woodblock printing, Letterpress involves reusable, raised surface wood or metal type, which is set by hand, inked, and pressed into paper. Though Johannes Gutenberg's commonly credited with the invention of this method of printing in 1440, it's been found to have been developed separately in Asia before then.  More »

Trailer & Op-Ed

The trailer has premiered exclusively on! It was edited by me and Jon Lefkovitz. Mostly Lefkovitz.

I also wrote an op-ed.

11/4/08, the feature documentary that I constructed from the initial set of footage sent to me, will be world premiering at the SXSW Film Festival this coming March!

SXSW is one of the preeminent American film festivals and also the interactive festival, so it is the perfect launching pad for this project.

Stay tuned for screening times!

The amazingly talented Felipe Lima has come on board to design the poster for 11/4/08. He has already thrown away all of the obvious ideas and proposed some very exciting ones. Check out his found images.

Sound Mix

We are one step closer to having a film ready to be seen. Ben Cheah, an accomplished sound designer who worked on Adventureland, Hedwig & the Angry Inch and HBO's The Wire, among other things, has come on board to mix the sound for 11/4/08.

Thanks to my many collaborators, 11/4/08 is finished. Stay tuned for more news. In the meantime, become a fan on Facebook.
